India, Belgium Explore Partnership In Life Sciences
A conference was organised in the city highlighting Hyderabad as the epicentre of innovation and collaboration

Hyderabad: An Indo-Belgian Life Sciences Conference, with the theme, ‘Strengthening Indo-Belgian Life Sciences Corridor: Unlocking the Future of Healthcare Together,’ was held in the city on Tuesday. The conference showcased Belgium’s expertise in research and development (R&D), biotech innovation, and medical devices alongside Telangana’s manufacturing prowess and global outreach.
D Sridhar Babu, Minister for Industries, Government of Telangana, inaugurated the conference, in the presence of dignitaries and industry leaders like H E Didier Vanderhasselt, Ambassador of Belgium to India; Jeroen Cooreman, Director General for Bilateral Affairs, and G V Prasad, Honorary Consul of Belgium.
Delivering the keynote address, the Minister emphasised the transformative potential of the partnership between India and Belgium in Life Sciences, with Hyderabad as the epicenter.
“While India and Belgium are individually strong in Life Sciences, it is in the fusion of our expertise that the true potential lies. Hyderabad, as India’s life sciences capital, with its world-class infrastructure, thriving startup ecosystem, and supportive government policies, provides the ideal environment for this collaboration,” Sridhar Babu said.
He further lauded Telangana’s leadership in vaccine production, generics, and biosimilars, and invited Belgium’s Life Sciences community to explore synergies.
